One Day Taipei

It's not technically a one day stay, but the trip was practically 1 whole day. My wife and I arrived at Taiwan Taoyuan Internation Airport at 21:55. Having valid Japan visas, we only needed to fill out an online form and print it as our Taiwan visa. We stayed that night at Fu Hau Hotel in Da-an District, Taipei. We got the room from agoda.com for JPY7,293. We also availed of their airport transfer, which cost NT1,400 on a very nice Buick.

The next day, we just had our free breakfast buffet and went on to what would be a very tiring but interesting day. I wanted to enjoy the places that I chose to visit, so I prepared a somewhat relaxed itinerary.

Ride 1: Daan Station to Longshan Temple Station
Stop 1: Longshan Temple
Ride 2: Longshan Temple to Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall Station
Stop 2: Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall
Ride 3: Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall Station to Taipei City Hall Station
Stop 3: Taipei 101
Ride 4: Taipei City Hall Station to Ximen Station
Stop 4: Ximending
Ride 5: Ximen Station to Daan Station

For our train rides, they cost either NT20 or NT25. Since we were only there for one day and would not visit many places, we used single journey tickets and not Taipei Metro's one-day pass or EasyCard.

When we got back to the hotel for our airport transfer, I realized that we ate just once when we went out - on a Japanese restaurant near Taipei 101. I was told that the local food was good, but I'll reserve it for next time, if there will be a next time. From different Internet fora, there are many more places to visit in Taipei and its suburbs, so maybe, we can go back there and check them out. We departed from the airport at 1:25 the next day.
